Students
are involved in a wide range of research and development applications
for radiation protection and safety and the associated measurement
and evaluation of the effects of radiation on biological systems.
These include developing radiation measurement instrumentation,
advanced dosimetry models and characterizing radiation levels
for any number of industries including nuclear power, environmental
science, medical application, and radioactive waste management.
A strong collaboration with the Department of Environmental Science
and Engineering expands the selection of courses and radiation
detection equipment available to students’ research areas.
